When fresh sneakers are launched, Converse kick out a flurry of social media to support and promote the release.
Commissioned by Superheroes in Amsterdam, I wrote multiple social media campaigns to launch a host of new Converse sneakers. Each campaign featured the work of talented, up-and-coming artists who were asked to express the theme of each launch with inventive artworks. My job was to link the artwork with the marketing angle for each launch, and translate it into Converse’s youthful tone of voice.
Converse Fade Campaign
Fade was a fresh, cool, girly sneaker with a dip dye tongue and laces. The gradient gave off a cheery, energetic vibe and my brief was to develop conceptual social media posts for their launch on Foot Locker.
Converse Woven Campaign
Woven really stood out thanks to its special woven canvas made out of a thick mesh. This gave the sneakers a distinctive, crafted look. As with the Fade Campaign, I was asked to create social posts for their launch on Foot Locker.
Converse and Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was famous for lots of things, but he was also a pioneer in using his Chuck Taylor All Stars as a canvas for his work. To honour this connection I was asked to create a short, yet engaging, piece of text for Converse.com
